Job Summary

 

The SVP, Client Manager is a player / coach role managing a team of more junior client managers responsible for managing portfolio accounts as well as carrying a small number of more complex accounts.  The SVP, Client Manager monitors the overall performance of the loan portfolio, identifies deviations and trends, and facilitates the overall management process, with the primary objective of identifying and mitigating credit losses.  The SVP, Client Manager is involved with the quality control function for the integrity of our borrower’s financial and other data, to include financial reporting, and the timely application of company established risk rating policies and procedures. This position requires an ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small group of client managers
  • Maintain and monitor a small portfolio of accounts
  • Facilitate and oversee the timely and accurate input of all data, specifically as it relates to borrower financial data. Communicate frequently with assigned clients to obtain information needed to evaluate changes in the asset value and operational / financial performance
  • Identify deviations from agreed upon performance and negotiate remedial action; obtain internal approval for action and document accordingly
  • Actively participate in portfolio review sessions with senior management
  • Collaborate with origination team on new transactions to ensure efficient documentation and funding
  • Provide guidance on process improvements, as well as provide oversight to junior members of the portfolio team
  • Involved with interviewing and hiring decisions
  • Prepare and deliver employee performance evaluations, goal planning, and counseling
  • Manage, support, coach and train staff
  • Travel to client visits and other meetings up to 25% of time (1 – 5 days per month)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years lending/credit experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Proficient with Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Review and be knowledgeable of departmental and human resource’s policies & procedures
  • CPA and/or MBA
  • Role requires sitting or standing in front of a computer monitor for prolonged periods of time in a fixed neck position.
  • Constant use of a computer or other office equipment resulting in repeating motions of the hands and wrists.
  • Light work that may include moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Salary Range: $145,741.44- 210,519.92 USD;  Final salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with geographic/market data.
